Artists will be joined by guest Dotschy Reinhardt, Django’s granddaugter.
It would certainly have been “Django’s Dream” to witness such extraordinary guitarists perform his music so vividly and daringly as to somehow make it new again.
For one unforgettable night, this mini festival celebrates Gypsy swing of the 1930s in unexpected ways under the artistic direction of guitarist and composer Stephane Wrembel (Fontainebleu, France/NY).
Wrembel, who has been called “a revelation” by Rolling Stone and who composed the music for Woody Allen’s last two films (for those who need a reminder, listen to Midnight in Paris Sountrack) will be joined by Kamlo (Nantes, France) who interprets Django via the Mediterranean, and Flamenco and Gypsy swing-style guitar master Alfonso Ponticelli (Chicago).
The electrifying sounds of three of the world’s leading Gypsy jazz artists – who each share a deep knowledge of Django’s style yet express it in individual ways – will move effortlessly between beloved Gypsy jazz standards and stunning improvisations ending in a spectacular super jam finale.

Pour une nuit inoubliable, ce mini festival célèbre le Gypsy Swing des années 1930 de manière inattendue sous la direction artistique de guitariste et compositeur Stéphane Wrembel (Fontainebleau, France / NY).
Wrembel, “une révélation” par le magazine Rolling, a composé la musique de deux films de Woody Allen (pour ceux qui veulent se rafraichir la mémoire, écouter la musique du film Midnight in Paris). Il sera rejoint par Kamlo (Nantes, France) qui interprète Django via la Méditerranée, et le maitre guitariste du Flamenco & du Gypsy Swing, Alfonso Ponticelli (Chicago).
Les sons électrisants de trois des plus grands artistes de jazz manouche du monde – qui ont une connaissance profonde du style de Django exprimé chacun à sa manière – se déplacent facilement entre le jazz manouche qu’on adore et des improvisations renversantes.
